The hearing for Veliaj is postponed/ Another tactic of the mayor's lawyers

The hearing at the Special Court for Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj has been postponed to November 17. Today's hearing was expected to decide whether or not the case would go to trial. 

Meanwhile, we would like to point out that this is not the first time that Veliaj's lawyers have requested a postponement. The preliminary hearing was scheduled for October 28, but Veliaj's lawyers again used their strategies and tactics to postpone the hearing that was scheduled for today.

Earlier, the preliminary hearing for Veliaj was postponed due to a boycott by lawyers on October 10, following the murder of judge Astrit Kalaja in the courtroom, while the second time, on October 21, it was postponed due to a boycott following the lawyer's arrest in Elbasan.

While on September 29, the preliminary hearing was postponed due to the lack of notification of some of the defendants. SPAK has copied Veliaj's file and sent it for trial. According to SPAK, Erion Veliaj faces 13 charges for several serious criminal offenses. /CNA
