Today will be a busy day. 11 committees will meet where the topic of discussion will be the draft budget for 2026.

Committee on Legal Affairs and Public Administration

In accordance with Article 61 of the Constitution of the Republic of Albania, Articles 3, 9 and 10 of Law No. 8454, dated 4.2.1999, “On the Ombudsman”, as amended, as well as Article 111 of

Rules of Procedure of the Assembly - The Committee on Legal Affairs and Public Administration, with decision no. 2/2025, dated 13.10.2025, announced the vacancy for the position of Ombudsman.

The deadline for submitting candidacies and required documentation was set for November 3, 2025. At the end of the deadline, 26 candidacies had been submitted.

According to the provisions of point 4, article 9 of Law No. 8545, dated 04.02.1999, “On the Ombudsman”, as amended, the Committee on Legal Affairs organizes public hearings with each candidate.

In accordance with the aforementioned legal provision, public hearings will be held on November 12 and 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM, in the room of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Public Administration, at the Presidency of the Assembly of Albania.
