Journalist Merin Maçi provided details this evening regarding the assassination attempt that occurred today in Rinas, the perpetrators of which are still unknown.

Maçi stated on the "Opinion" show that the assassins' vehicle was parked outside the airport before the car carrying Gilmando Dani and Muçi Shaljani left the airport's underground parking lot.

He said that the entire execution was carried out calmly by the perpetrators, who he said were four, with three of them firing Kalashnikov rounds at the targets' car. After that, the journalist said that the perpetrators' car followed the route taken for the Rinas robbery and came out at the Tapiza bridge.

The journalist stated that the AMP agent had social ties to someone close to Emiljano Shullazi.

"Gilmando Dani and Muçi Shaljani arrived at Rinas Airport from Barcelona on a direct flight. They took the car from the underground parking lot. At the exit of the airport, Gilmando Dani was wearing a hat and carrying a suitcase. It is suspected that he had the hat on to avoid being noticed, while Shaljani was calm.

Shaljani was a social connection of Gilmando Dani. He had been part of the AMP for three months. After leaving the airport premises, the attackers' vehicle was parked for several minutes on the side where the VIP entrance is located. At the moment their vehicle left, three people got out of the car and fired a volley of Kalashnikovs at the car. The car did not flee to the side that leads to Fushë-Krujë, but continued towards the road to enter the contravention area.

They calmly exchanged weapons and one of them fired several shots at the car. They got into the car and the four of them drove along the same route as the one used in the robbery of Rinas to get to the Tapiza bridge. It took an army to stop their aggression. A police patrol couldn't stop them.

"Gilmando Dani was a person who was kept under surveillance. In 2015, he also escaped an assassination attempt in the Rinas area. He was with Emiljano Shullazi. In that event, that same night, another character from Shullazi's group was assassinated on Kavajës Street," the journalist said. /CNA
