Unable to justify wealth/ KPA upholds Tirana prosecutor's dismissal

The Special Appeals Chamber has dismissed Tirana prosecutor Miranda Bushi from office, upholding the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission.

On May 25, 2023, the Independent Qualification Commission decided to dismiss the prosecutor after she failed to justify the purchase of several real estate properties.

The panel of the Special Appeals Chamber, composed of Albana Shtylla as presiding judge, Sokol Çomo as rapporteur, Mimoza Tasi, Natasha Mulaj, Rezarta Schuetz as members, announced the decision on case no. 41/2023, dated 13.09.2023, which concerns the appeal of the reassessment subject Miranda Bushi against the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission, no. 666, dated 25.05.2023.

 

At the end of the trial in the deliberation room, the panel, based on Article 66, point 1, letter “a” of Law No. 84/2016, “On the temporary re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania”, unanimously decided:

 

Upholding the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission No. 666, dated 25.05.2023, concerning the subject of the reassessment Miranda Bushi.

 

This decision is final and has immediate effect.
