Këlliçi accuses the majority: We are being denied the right to

Democratic MP Belind Këlliçi declared today that the majority is denying the opposition the right to parliamentary debate, motions, and the establishment of committees.

In his speech to the Initiatives Committee, Këlliçi stated that in the 10 plenary sessions held during this legislature, the opposition has not been able to address important issues of citizens.

"You talk about respecting the opposition, but this does not happen in parliament. As we are in parliament, so are you. In these two months, 10 sessions have been held so far. We had the opportunity to talk about citizens and the budget, but not about the government program and the law on gender equality. We have not had the opportunity to talk about many important institutions and problems of voters. The sessions have been closed. Today, as the opposition, we are not recognized for the right to motions for debate, for committees, and to deal with issues that are not political at all, such as the case of medicines. The Assembly has not implemented this request of the opposition. It may sound nice that the rights of the opposition are recognized, but with deeds and acts, something like this does not result in plenary sessions", - said Këlliçi. /CNA
