A hearing is being held with the Prosecutor General (PP) regarding the draft law "On the 2026 budget". The Secretary General of the Prosecution, Luan Abazi, stated during his speech that after drafting the draft budget for 2026, two problems have been identified.

One of them, according to him, is the accommodation of prosecutors, officers and administration in the country's 4 prosecutors' offices. Meanwhile, following the incident at the Court of Appeal, where judge Astrit Kalaja was killed, the Prosecution has requested financial support to fill 17 positions for security officers.

"We have drafted the draft budget for 2026, and we have identified two problems. One of them is the accommodation of prosecutors, officers and administration in the prosecution offices of Tirana, Durrës, Fier and Saranda. Another problem that arose after drafting the draft budget is the incident that occurred at the Court of Appeals, we have conducted a review and it has emerged that we need to fill 17 organic positions for security officers. This is outside the draft budget and so we would like to ask for your support to strengthen security measures in the institution", said the Secretary General. /CNA
