"Rugger with power"/ The Mufti of Shkodra accuses the police chief

The Mufti of Shkodra, Imam Muhamed Sytari, has commented publicly for the first time on the removal of the sign in the courtyard of the "Ebu Bekr" Mosque by the local police of Shkodra.

During an event at the Rus Mosque in Shkodra in memory of Haxhi Fejzi Zaganjori, Mufti Sytari called the director of the Shkodra local police, Gentian Berberi, "a powerful thug."

The latter led the action to remove the sign from the courtyard of the Great Mosque in Shkodra.

This sign was reinstalled in the courtyard of the Mosque after it had previously been removed by the municipal police, but in a different location, a few meters away while it was on the sidewalk.

The sign bore the prophetic inscription "Whoever steals even a palm of land, Allah will hang seven earths around his neck on the Day of Judgment" and on both occasions the sign stood in front of the 35-story tower that has begun construction at the Turizmi hotel in the city center.

The mufti claims that the land is being plundered because it is their property, the Orthodox community and the Laçej family's.

Mufti Sytari held a meeting with the mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci, reducing tensions and finding a path to cooperation after the clashes that started with the removal of that sign.

While this topic has been closed with the municipality, Mufti Sytari harshly criticized the actions of the director of the local police of Shkodra, Gentian Berberi, who, together with several officers, forcibly entered and removed the sign in the courtyard of the "Ebu Bekr" Mosque in the city center in the evening hours of November 9.
