Former Mayor of Shkodra and current DP MP, Bardh Spahia, appeared today at the premises of the Special Anti-Corruption Court, for the court session in which he was charged with violating the law during the dismissal of the director of Shkodra Water and Sewerage.  

In a statement to the media, Spahia said that the allegations raised against him for irregularities during his tenure as head of the Shkodra Municipality are part of a politically motivated initiative, with the sole aim of damaging his image.

 

"I continue to stand by my statements, which were a politically motivated initiative to damage my image. This fact is also confirmed by the testimony of the plaintiff in the courtroom, who, when asked if he was aware, said no and that he had no interest. It is clear in black and white. It shows that this is a political process against me. I was questioned and gave my testimony. It is the court that decides. But in my opinion, it is clear that we have been in full compliance with the law. Citizens, through their support on May 11, have testified and see better who is at their service", - said Spahia. /CNA
