Albania at the Peace Board/ Shkullaku: Let's be in sync with American

Journalist Armand Shkullaku shared his position today regarding the invitation extended to the country to be on the Peace Board conceived by US President Donald Trump.

Invited to "Syri TV", Shkullaku expressed that it is positive that Albania is in sync with American foreign policy, but asked that the issue be handled more normally, as according to him, no kind of public debate is needed.

 "Because here, there are always such hallucinatory debates. In a normal society, the debate would be about the value of the paper and the second, pride in Albania's role. The question that any normal person would ask is: 'Role for what?'. Albania's role as a democratic country? As a vanguard of democracy in the Balkans and Europe? For its contribution to NATO, for its participation in recent wars? If it is about pride in democracy, Belarusians also feel proud, although they live under the regime. Turks also feel proud, although the opposition is in prison and half of the media are imprisoned. So, this is the discussion we have in the small province. Before us, the invitation was also extended to Cyprus and Greece, but there was no public debate there. What I want to say is that even if it is a personal initiative, within the act of foreign policy, Albania will be in sync and it is something normal", - said Shkullaku. /CNA
