Senior State Department official Mark Tervakoski is in Tirana, where he held meetings with the head of the Special Prosecution Office, Klodian Braho, and the head of the National Bureau of Investigation, Joni Keta.

The focus of the meetings was the US's commitment to the fight against organized crime and drug trafficking.

Tervakoski also met with the head of the Special Court, Erjon Bani, and with representatives of law enforcement, justice, civil society, and international missions in Albania.

“Demonstrating the strength of the law enforcement partnership between the United States and Albania and the Trump Administration’s relentless fight against international organized crime and narcotics trafficking, the Director of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs’ Bureau for Europe and Asia, Mark Tervakoski, met with representatives of law enforcement, justice, civil society, and international missions in Albania.

"The United States is focused on providing capabilities, tools, and cooperation in Albania and globally to partners who share our commitment to combating criminals who harm our citizens, threaten our borders, and undermine our national security," the US embassy said in a post. /CNA
