Injured during the protest/ Journalist Asimi: I had problems, I participated for

Albanian-American journalist Arian Asimi spoke today about the opposition protest, where one of the people injured by tear gas was a participant.

Asim told "Syri TV" that there are still problems due to the case filed yesterday before the Prime Minister's Office.

Asim said that he chose to come from the US for the protest not only as a journalist, but also as a citizen.

"It was one of the most beautiful days of my life. Because I saw live, I saw directly, I touched people, they were not cavemen, they were not woodcutters, they were people who had come out to protest for their rights, they were people who had come out to overthrow, to demand the removal of this ugly thing called Edi Rama. I personally experienced my youth, the '90s, when we participated in the protests against those Enverists who were demanding the bust of Enver.

I want to say a few things, actually I've had problems with my throat, it's still very bad, I'm struggling. I have a lot of problems from the gas I ate.

I was at the protest, with two missions. Two missions, to tell the ignorant because ignorance also needs to be clarified. I am an American citizen and I am proud to be an American citizen. I was born in Albania. My soul was hurting yesterday. I was dying there, I was dying, I was lying on the asphalt, because I couldn't see anything and the gas they threw at me, it wasn't white gas, it was green. It was green gas, because I remember opening my eyes a little and thinking about my children, thinking about my wife, and saying, get out. I would have offered everything in the world just to escape at that moment, because I didn't deserve to be gassed. And I want to say something else that is very important. So, I was there first and foremost as a journalist to see the protest up close. To understand if it was just a media trip. And I really saw a protest there, I really saw the spirit of the protesters.

First I was a journalist. And I value, I value the first article in the constitution that I have signed, I have sworn, freedom of speech, freedom of the media. So the media is every person who has courage, spirit, has a pure soul and loves the profession of journalist.

I verified that the protest is real, the people are real, the revolt is real, there are many people. I have even met many people who are afraid. Because there are people who are afraid, not all people are brave. So many people don't even stay on the boulevard, they stay a little further away so that no one sees them. Do you understand me? So I verified that the revolt is real, it is not manipulation, it is real.

"I also came out for my mother. My mother is a pensioner here, she has worked her whole life. But, pension is not just about the monetary side, it is integrity, it is respect. When the state increases pensions for pensioners, it is respect for their work, for their lives, it is not just about the economic side," said Asimi. /CNA
