The opposition held its next national protest this Tuesday.

Initially, hundreds of citizens gathered in front of the Prime Minister's Office. After the speech of the Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha, citizens began throwing Molotov cocktails towards the building, while the police responded with water cannons to disperse the crowd.

After about an hour and a half of protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, the protest moved to the Parliament, a scenario similar to that of the protest on January 24. There were tensions there too, as protesters clashed with police and some of them attempted to enter the building.

There, too, Molotov cocktails were thrown at the officers, who responded with tear gas.

During this time, there were numerous clashes with the police, throwing of pyrotechnics, Molotov cocktails, stones, and physical clashes with the police, where the latter responded with water, tear gas, and numerous arrests.

During his closing speech from the blue headquarters, Democratic leader Sali Berisha said that the citizens took possession of the city with their determination, describing it as a peaceful uprising, while he leveled accusations at the police officers, who according to him, unfairly attacked and raped the protesters.

The escalation of the protest also brought consequences, as protesters, opposition representatives, police officers and citizens were injured due to the substances used at the rally./ CNA
