The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, gave a statement to the media from the Blue House. Berisha described the protest as a peaceful uprising, while saying that the citizens, with their determination, took possession of the city.
Meanwhile, the leading democrat accused police officers of attacking protesters and DP deputies.
"Peaceful uprising. With their courage and determination, the citizens took over the city. The criminals in uniform rushed like beasts because they thought they could defeat them. The peaceful attitude of the protesters is tens of times more powerful than your banditry. These tens of thousands of brave men only need a few minutes to give you what you deserve. Do not take their restraint as weakness. I guarantee you that this restraint, this determination of ours, cannot be provoked. Gratitude to every citizen who has come from all over. The barbarity of the police did not spare either journalists or cameramen," said Berisha. /CNA
