Interior Minister Albana Koçiu has reacted to the tensions at today's opposition protest. The minister stated that some police officers were injured in the clashes at the protest.
According to her, the violence used by the protesters cannot be justified, while adding that the police will continue to be on duty.
Koçiu also shared images of injured officers, who were sent to the hospital for medical assistance.
Full reaction:
The right to protest, for the umpteenth time, was violated by a group that chose force over words, attacking, raping, and injuring State Police officers.
Violence can never be a tool, and no agenda justifies its use.
Gratitude to every police officer who showed professionalism and prudence in the face of every provocation.
The police will always be on duty to guarantee the right to protest, as well as to guarantee the safety of every citizen and public property and citizens. /CNA
