From infrastructure to economic development/ Tirana organizes the Corridor VIII

Tirana will welcome the Ministerial of Corridor VIII, one of the most important infrastructural and geopolitical projects in the region.

The meeting scheduled for February 18 will take place at the Brigades Palace, with the participation of delegations from Albania, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Italy and Romania, as well as representatives from partner countries.

This meeting aims to deepen intergovernmental cooperation to accelerate the development of Corridor VIII as a strategic artery for transport, economic development and security, while simultaneously contributing to strengthening regional integration and interconnection with major European networks.

The plenary session will address the topic: "Corridor VIII in Europe's strategic moment: Connectivity, sustainability through military mobility and shared prosperity through integration", emphasizing and underlining the role of Corridor VIII as a strategic pillar that unites the economic, security and regional connectivity dimensions in the function of shared prosperity.

The adoption of a joint statement is expected during the Ministerial, while the program will also include bilateral meetings and a joint press conference.

Within the framework of the ministerial, the Economic Forum for Corridor VIII will also be held, with the theme: "From Strategic Linkage to Regional Economic Growth: The Economic Potential of Corridor VIII", which will be held at the premises of the Bank of Albania.

Discussions will focus on trade facilitation, as well as industrial development with the aim of increasing regional competitiveness. The forum aims to mobilize European and international financing instruments and produce concrete recommendations to transform Corridor VIII into a catalyst for investment, growth and regional economic integration./ CNA
