Rainfall in Lezha/ Some areas are flooded, making traffic in neighborhoods

The intense rainfall that fell overnight has caused several problems in the city of Lezha.

The high amount of water has exceeded the capacity of the underground sewage system, causing water to rise to the surface and flood several areas of the city.

The most affected are the “11 Janari” residential blocks and the area known as “11.2 hectares” in the “Besëlidhja” neighborhood, where the presence of water on the road has made it difficult for pedestrians and vehicles to move around. On some axes, traffic has been temporarily suspended.

Due to the high water level, the Municipal Police has intervened by blocking several road segments and directing drivers to alternative routes, with the aim of avoiding danger and ensuring safety.

The work that has been underway for months on the sewage and wastewater system, a project that aims to provide a definitive solution to flooding in the city, has also had an impact on the worsening of the situation.

Meanwhile, the bad weather has also brought problems with electricity supply, both in the city and in rural areas of Lezha. /CNA
