Find out who the political prisoners of Justice Reform are

On July 21, 2016, the Justice Reform, led mainly by the Socialists and chaired by Fatmir Xhafaj, would be approved, with great international support.

We recall the movements of ambassadors Donald Lu and Romana Vlahutin, who, as you can see in this photo, kissed in the Assembly when the reform was approved, which would in fact be the "kiss of the victims" of the new justice system.

Then followed the reform and the vetting. A vetting that was also overturned in Strasbourg, over which there are prejudices, but also political and non-political contestations, due to the fact that the CNA has often emphasized that it has been caught and has not maintained a standard.

Family members of socialist officials have been part of the vetting commissions or judges and people with political activity within the left. The product that came out in the end did not have the proper standards. This is clear. Judges and prosecutors with dignity have left the system and there are still people in the justice system or at the top of their structures who have passed the vetting in a "strange" way, because if we look at the standards, not only would they not have passed it, but even less would they have led a court or prosecutor's office.

However, the Justice Reform is over. Every reform after a decade must be reviewed and revised for standards, the conditions when it was created and today's conditions, legislation, corrections needed in the Criminal Code, and others.

Albania's path to the EU requires this and today this is one of the conditions. For example, when senior officials are arrested, there are proposals, such as the fact that there should be immunity even for the suspension of a minister or deputy prime minister from office. There are dozens of such conditions, which in fact cannot be passed unilaterally, but must be with a political consensus.

But what is striking and most essential is who the "victims" of this Justice Reform are.

They are investigated, arrested, tried and say we are political victims, and the strangest thing is that they belong to all political parties.

Ilir Meta is in prison. Sali Berisha was under security measures, had a conflict with justice, claimed that the court could not take his passport and could not place him under security measures "obligation to appear", but he refused and was under house arrest for a year. Both leaders of the opposition, but we are also adding Ervin Salianji here, but there are also others from the DP who consider themselves political prisoners.

On the other hand, the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, a 99-year-old converted to socialism, is in prison and claims that he is being politically imprisoned.

Today the mayor of Rrogozhina, Edison Memolla, who was sentenced to prison for buying votes in the elections, said that he was a political prisoner. The Justice Reform came out of political consensus and the SP took the flag. Okay, these Democrats who claim to be political prisoners from the autocratic government and the justice captured by Edi Rama, do these socialists really want it?! Or are these people with the variant "how do I know what I'm saying, it's enough to say something in the hope that someone believes me".

Now, decide for yourself who the real prisoners of the consensual justice reform are, because everyone says we are political prisoners . /CNA
