Operators return to Italy/ Migrant centers in Albania are emptied

All the social workers of the governing body of the Italian Centers in Albania for the repatriation of immigrants will leave Shengjin and Gjadri to return to Italy.

Migrant center operators and police officers will return to their country within the weekend.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, the centers remain functional and supervised, while the staff has been reduced and changed according to the needs of the moment, Italian media reports.

In Gjadër, there are only 7 employees who deal with administration and cleaning, as well as Albanian staff, including health personnel.

So far, both the first transfer of migrants and the second ended with the return of the asylum seekers to Italy, following the decision of the Court of Rome, which referred the case to the European Court of Justice./ CNA
