The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, spoke about the work of the Special Prosecutor's Office before and after the creation of this institution.

Dumani said that SPAK has gone through many difficulties as an institution in 5 years and has been working with a lack of staff.

"In December, SPAK turns 5 years old. For the public and for you as the media, maybe 5 years seems a lot, but in reality for an institution it is too little to get the shape it needs, taking into consideration the difficulties we have gone through as an institution. We started on December 19, 2019, we were only 18 prosecutors, we had no administrative staff, we didn't even have a building, there was no question of having tools to use for the investigation. On the other hand, we had a very large flow of criminal proceedings. We inherited a relatively large number of files from the Serious Crimes Prosecutor's Office. The General Jurisdiction Prosecutions declared incompetence and sent many files to the Special Prosecution. We went through many difficulties, the situation is different today", he said in a TV interview.

Duman was asked about SPAK's lower results before he took over, but the head of the Special Prosecutor's Office replied that it was still in the creation phase.

"For years they were conditioned by the situation in which they worked and by the stage. It is like children who stand up and then keep walking. The first 3 years were the phases of creation and operation of SPAK. Now we have a functional SPAK.
