The vetting process is closed, over 300 judges and prosecutors dismissed in 7

Today, what is known as the first level of control of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania ended its work. Since March 2018, when the first session of the so-called vetting started, more than 800 judges and prosecutors were checked, some of whom are in the second instance of the Appeals College because they claim to stay in the justice system.

More than 300 judges, prosecutors, legal assistants were dismissed from the justice system due to problems with assets, due to suspicious links with crime or corrupt people or because they were not professionally qualified to be in the pyramid of justice.

The so-called vetting process caused a real earthquake in the ranks of judges and prosecutors, bringing dismissals or resignations to escape the process from the Supreme Court, the Constitutional Court, the Courts of Appeal, the Courts of First Instance and likewise in the vertical pyramid of the Prosecutor's Office.

Now that the commissioners of the first degree of vetting have finished their work, it will be the Appellate Board, the government of judges and the government of prosecutors, known as KLJ and KLP, that will continue the process of filtering the new generations of people who will to decide on justice in the Republic of Albania./ CNA
