The Foreign Ministry of Albania has come out with a statement on the passivation of the addresses of Albanians in the Presheva Valley

The Foreign Ministry says that the deactivation of addresses constitutes a violation of human rights and standards for the protection of minorities.

In the statement, it was emphasized that the deactivation of addresses is not a purely legal issue, but has consequences on the daily life of Albanians in this region.

"The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs closely follows the phenomenon of the passivation of addresses of Albanians in the Presheva Valley, especially in Medvegja. This action constitutes a violation of human rights and standards for the protection of minorities, depriving Albanians of access to basic services and the exercise of their fundamental rights.

The deactivation of addresses is not a purely legal issue, but has consequences on the daily life of Albanians in this region, violating their rights and equality.

The Ministry has addressed and will continue to address this issue in the dialogue with the Serbian authorities, as well as in international forums. Through its continuous commitment, Albania will continue to seek the protection of the rights of Albanians in the Presheva Valley, in accordance with international standards for human and minority rights", the Foreign Ministry underlined./ CNA
