Father Nikolla Kodheli has stated that Archbishop Anastasios Janullatos will be laid to rest near the Orthodox Cathedral because he was the builder.

He expressed his love for the Archbishop and also said that he will be laid to rest in the Orthodox Cathedral for which he fought and tried with prayers and funding to build the cathedral.

Invited to a television show, Kodheli stated that the Archbishop will be laid to rest in Albania, as it is not only his legacy but also the tradition of the church.

"Archbishop Anastasios Janullatos will be laid to rest near the Orthodox Cathedral because he was the builder. Builders rest in the work they have built and the archbishop is not the builder of the cathedral that dominates Tirana, but the builder of 60 churches throughout Albania from Vraka to Saranda."

The Archbishop has built schools, canteens, asylums. It is not only his legacy to be buried in Albania, but it is part of the tradition of the church. Every Metropolitan, every Archbishop, when elected, is married to his diocese and his honor is to be buried within his diocese.

The diocese of Archbishop Anastasios since 1992, who was elected by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew as Archbishop of Tirana and all Albania, is Tirana, Durrës.
