The passing of Janullatos/Representative of the Orthodox Church in Vlora: A

The Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania, Anastas Janullatos, has passed away at the age of 95. The Archbishop had been hospitalized in Athens since January 3. Janullatos had led the Orthodox Church of Albania since 1992, leaving an indelible impact on the religious and social life of the country.

In connection with this great loss, the representative of the Orthodox Church of the city of Vlora, Ilia Qirjo, expressed his message of comfort to the believers of this community and all Albanians.

He emphasized that the death of Archbishop Anastasios is a great loss, but also an opportunity to remember his irreplaceable contribution to strengthening the spiritual and national ties of the Orthodox Church in Albania.

"With deep sorrow we received the news of the passing of Archbishop Anastasios. He led the Orthodox Church with the light of wisdom and love for God and man. This loss is heavy for all believers, but we are certain that his works and teachings will continue to guide believers even after this difficult moment," he told CNA TV.

The representative emphasized that this is a moment of solidarity and prayer for the soul of Archbishop Anastasios, expressing that the faithful will always keep his memory and teachings in their hearts./ CNA
