The Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania is expected to issue an official announcement regarding the ceremonies that will be held in honor of Archbishop Anastasios Janullatos.

His Beatitude Anastas Yanullatos passed away at the age of 95, after a long stay in the Athens hospital.

The Archbishop passed away as a result of the insufficient functioning of many organs.

The bitter news was announced by the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania.

The Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania, with deep sorrow, announces the repose of the soul of the Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and all Albania, His Beatitude Anastasios. The Archbishop passed away today, January 25, 2025, at 08:30 in the morning, at the age of 95, at the "Evangelismos" Hospital in Athens, as a result of the insufficient functioning of many organs. Previously, he had been treated for several days at the "Hygeia" Hospital in Tirana.

We invite the Orthodox believers of the Church of Albania to pray for the repose of the soul of the deceased Chief Shepherd.
