Believers in Korça saddened by the extinction of Janullatos/ Light

Today is a sad and painful day for all Orthodox believers. The passing of Archbishop Anastasios Janullatos has also touched the Orthodox believers of the city of Korça, who have gone to the "Resurrection of Christ" Cathedral to light a candle for the soul of the Archbishop.

Since this morning, hundreds of believers, after receiving the bitter news of his passing, have offered their prayers near the Cathedral.

For Cna TV, some believers have told that Janullatos was the first to rebuild churches in Albania, while they call him a benefactor and a man with a great soul. On this day, there was no lack of condolences and prayers from believers for the soul of the archbishop.

"He was the first to rebuild churches in Albania. We have believed for years, since during Enver's time, we went to churches when we were little children, and now when the archbishop came and rebuilt the churches, we were very happy. We were very saddened by his passing. I came here to the church to light a candle for his soul. May he rest in peace as he deserves."

"Today Archbishop Anastasios, the benefactor of all Orthodox churches, passed away. We are very saddened. That is why we are in church today to light a candle for his soul. May God have mercy on him. May his soul rest in peace."

For some time now, Archbishop Anastas Janullatos has had health complications, undergoing surgical interventions, but has not been able to stabilize due to his serious health condition, passing away this Saturday morning. In his honor, a mass is expected to be held tomorrow not only in Korça but in all cities of Albania./ CNA
