The heavy rainfall that has been continuing for several days has caused numerous problems in the areas of Lushnja and Divjaka, leading to significant flooding of agricultural lands.
The Seman River has overflowed its banks, flooding about 130 hectares of agricultural land within the embankment in the villages of Ngurëz and Imshtë. Meanwhile, the Shkumbin River is nearing overflow, with several hectares of land already under water.
The situation is also problematic in the administrative unit of Grabjan, Divjakë, as well as in the administrative unit of Dushk, Lushnje, where around 150 hectares of flooded cultivated land are reported.
To cope with the situation, the Tërbuf, Karavasta and Divjaka hydropower plants are working at full capacity, while the rainfall is still moderate. Local authorities are constantly monitoring the situation and call on farmers to be careful and follow official announcements./ CNA
