Journalist Andi Tela spoke this evening about the massive flooding in the city of Durrës. Invited to Syri TV, he said that when you see drone images of Durrës, you get the impression that you are in a place that has been affected by a hurricane or typhoon.

He further added that this is not caused by a natural disaster but by the mismanagement of the structures that are paid to prevent such situations.

"Now when, when I heard, when I heard this, this message from Mr. Rama, I remembered again the irony he was making with SPAK and other bodies, using that famous joke of 'Loro Boriç' that the rain has its work, we have our work. And we have our work in the sense of propaganda.

So, if you see these drone images of Durrës, you get the impression that you are in one of those places where a hurricane or typhoon floods everything, or a giant hydroelectric dam breaks and produces this flood, which you can't do anything about.

But it has rained. It has only rained and you see these images. And you understand very well that it is no longer nature's fault. It is the fault of management, of the management of the structures that are paid to prevent these images from being created.

"The citizens of Durrës, of that area there, pay taxes to fix the sewers, to fix the water supply. These taxes are stolen. And after these taxes are stolen, now they are asked to collect other taxes, perhaps from us who live here in Tirana, to compensate for the damage to these residents. So they pay taxes twice. Both in Tirana, but also in Durrës, high infrastructure taxes are paid for new constructions ," Tela said. /CNA
