He killed his neighbor with a hammer/ Tirana Court sentences the perpetrator to

The Tirana Court has sentenced Isuf Hasa to 25 years in prison, accused of the criminal offense of "Theft resulting in death." 

On January 13, 2025, Hasa beat his neighbor, Xhemal Meta, to death with a hammer in Shëngjergj, Tirana, and then took the money the victim was carrying in a bag tied around his neck.

Meta lost his life as a result of severe head injuries caused by the use of sharp tools.

Announcement: 

The Court, pursuant to Article 141 of the Criminal Code and Articles 383, 384, 406 of the Code of Criminal Procedure;

DECIDED:

1. The guilty plea of ??the defendant IH for committing the criminal offense of "Theft resulting in death" provided for in Article 141 of the Criminal Code and, based on this article, his sentence to 25 (twenty-five) years of imprisonment.

2. The serving of this sentence shall begin from the day of his arrest on 15.01.2025 and shall be carried out in a high-security prison.

3. The items seized with the records for the seizure of items dated 15.01.2025, banknotes, shall be returned to the legal owner, while 1 . with ., with ., shall pass in favor of the state

4. Procedural expenses incurred in the preliminary investigation phase and court expenses shall be borne by the defendant, while the expenses for the defense attorney appointed by the court shall be paid by the state.

5. An appeal may be filed against this decision at the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction, within 15 (fifteen) days from the day after its notification. /CNA
