Landslide and rockslide on the "Gjirokastër-Tepelena"

Landslides and rockslides have been recorded today on the Gjirokastër-Tepelena axis. As a result, vehicle traffic on this axis operates in one direction only. According to reports, the landslides occurred in a place called "Shkalla e Zezë".

Road authorities and civil emergencies are on the ground to enable the complete release of the road axis. The Gjirokastra Police appeal to all drivers to avoid unnecessary movements, as there is water on the road axes.

Police announcement: 

We inform citizens and road users that as a result of a landslide of a mass of soil and stones, due to atmospheric conditions with heavy rainfall, the "Gjirokastër-Tepelena" road axis, specifically in the place called "Shkalla e Zezë", operates with one direction of movement.

The structures of the Gjirokastra Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Emergency Structures and those of the ARA, are working intensively to clear the road.

Also, the presence of uniformed services and vehicles equipped with flares has increased on all axes of the district, with the aim of preventing road accidents, as well as providing assistance to road users, if necessary.

The Gjirokastra Police appeal to all drivers to avoid unnecessary movements, as there is water on the road axes.
