"Institutions did not take measures"/ Public transport associations: From Wednesday, we will reduce the service fleet by 40%

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared that the April 17 protest is expected to be a "powerful civic revolt" against corruption and the economic situation in the country.
In a statement to the media, Berisha harshly criticized the government led by Edi Rama, accusing it of wrong policies regarding oil prices and support for farmers.
According to him, unlike European Union countries, which have taken measures to ease the fiscal burden on fuels and support agriculture, Albania is following the opposite course.
He pointed out that many Western countries have reduced taxes on oil and increased subsidies for farmers to cope with rising prices.
Berisha stated that the Albanian government has not taken steps to reduce fuel prices, while, according to him, it is benefiting from the VAT increase.
He also added that the removal of subsidies for farmers seriously endangers the agricultural sector in the country.
In conclusion, he called on citizens to join the April 17 protest, describing it as a necessary reaction to the current economic and political situation.
"You heard it. What are the developments in Europe today in relation to oil? Oil is the lifeblood of the economy and is the material with the most powerful impact not only on industry, not only on those who have cars, but also on all those who eat, all those who shop, all those who walk, who use transport, who move."
All of Europe, the entire Western world, Australia, are engaged in immediate relief of the fiscal burden on oil. At a time when Edi Rama is making fabulous profits due to the increase in VAT and does not reduce anything, until oil is said to exceed 224 lek per liter. In addition, he made a decision absolutely with the aim of bankrupting Albanian farmers.
Let me inform the farmers of the country that Germany, in an act three days ago, decided to double the oil subsidy for farmers. Double it. Others likewise, Sweden. And other countries, Sweden reduced the VAT on food to 6%, from 12% it had. Because of these prices.
Meanwhile, Edi Rama removed subsidies for Albanian farmers and resorted to the greatest impudence, the greatest impudence. He was declared a 2-meter liar, he was declared that Europe no longer uses subsidies.
"Once again, I say to Albanian farmers that there is no country in the European Union member states or negotiating countries that do not provide oil subsidies to farmers," Berisha said./ CNA
