Abuse of office by the former mayor of Kavaja / SPAK requests the cessation of investigations in 6 cases

The Special Prosecution Office has requested the suspension of investigations into 6 cases of abuse of office against Elvis Roshi, the former mayor of Kavaja, due to the statute of limitations on the criminal offense.

Meanwhile, Roshi continues to be prosecuted for 5 other cases of abuse of office.

The case is in the preliminary hearing phase, while the next hearing will be held on April 28.

Roshi was investigated for violating equality in tenders and was later charged with abuse of office.

The accusations come after an audit by the Albanian Supreme Audit Office regarding tender abuses in the Kavaja municipality, a case which had been referred to the Durrës court for a recess but the latter declared incompetence./ CNA
