Summit/ Rama: Diaspora is not on the periphery of Albania's national life,

Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke at the opening of the second day of the 4th Diaspora Summit. Rama said that today the diaspora is the extension of the Albanian nation in countries around the world.

Among other things, he added that today the diaspora is no longer a story of departure but a "multiplication of the forces of the Albanian nation." The head of government invited all Albanians living abroad to participate in building the future of Albania.

"It is a privilege to be here today as the Prime Minister of Albania and to come here as a voice that forges the community of a nation greater than its borders. Albania does not end where its territory ends. Today, when the world is more interconnected than ever and where the word passes from one continent to another like never before, you are the extension of the Albanian nation everywhere in the world. There was a time when Albanians fled their homeland, taking with them the courage of those who have nothing to lose and the pain of separation.

What once seemed like a gap has now become a bridge. Today, the Albanian diaspora is not a story of flight but a multiplication of the forces of the Albanian nation. Albanians built lives in countries that began to recognize them not through stereotypes but through their usefulness and nobility. Through success stories, you carried the invisible thread that connects us all to this land. This thread is our strategic asset, the unifying force that the nation has and the challenge that Albania has today to maintain and pass on from generation to generation, their footprint. This summit is not a ceremonial meeting, it is a declaration of common goals. The Albanian diaspora is not on the periphery of Albania's national life, but at its center. This country invites the diaspora to participate, to invest, to academic life, to the future of Albania" , Rama said, among other things. /CNA
