British Ambassador to Kosovo: They hope these will be the last elections for

The British Ambassador to Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves, spoke today about the election process.

In a statement to the media in Kosovo, Hargreaves expressed his hope that after the electoral process, political parties will reach an agreement on the formation of institutions and the election of the country's new president.

"I have the impression that many people in this country hope that these will be the last elections for this year. If it is necessary to go to elections again, then this will happen. But it would be very good if after these elections the political parties could reach an agreement, not only on the assembly and the government, but also on the election of the president," he declared.

The ambassador said that he and other diplomats are part of the diplomatic observation team coordinated by the European Union, known as "Diplo Watch", which is monitoring developments throughout Kosovo.

Regarding the election of the president and the ordering of institutional processes, he said that this remains the responsibility of political parties.

"This is entirely up to the political parties to resolve among themselves. I simply think that Kosovo needs an Assembly, a government and a president as soon as possible, and it is up to the parties to determine the order and outcome of this process ," the British ambassador said. /CNA
