Diaspora Summit/ Harsh criticism and clashes on panels

The Diaspora Summit in Tirana, although conceived as a platform for unity, has been accompanied by tensions and strong criticism of government representatives.

In some panels, guests from the diaspora have exploded with accusations, describing the organization as a "show" where their voices remain in the shadow of political figures.

One of the most culminating moments was the intervention of Eva Baçi, a lawyer at the Bologna Prosecutor's Office. She addressed the leader of the SP group, Taulant Balla, in harsh tones, demanding that the diaspora not be treated simply as a statistic or an audience for the speeches of those in power.

Another incident was recorded during a discussion on the "Mountains Package". A former miner from Bulqiza, now part of the diaspora, clashed with Taulant Balla regarding the difficulties in certifying the properties of his ancestors and the government's failure to approve the Miner's Status.

Despite the moderators' attempts to silence him, the immigrant directly accused politics of unfulfilled promises since 2013. /CNA
