Denunciation of Këlliç: Rama-related scandal threatens

Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi, through a post on social media, has denounced an affair that he says is related to Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Këlliçi writes that the scandal is related to an Israeli businessman with Albanian citizenship, Ron Yeffet, whose company has been implicated in international fraud charges.

The lawsuit against Yeffet for fraud in the amount of 7.6 million dollars, according to the MP, was filed in a Florida court by an American businessman in the energy field. Këlliçi states that according to the lawsuit, Ron Yeffet used his strong ties to Prime Minister Rama, "providing him with meetings with him and other officials to deceive him regarding investment opportunities."

According to the Democratic MP, this exposes a potential scandal with consequences for NATO itself, of which Albania is a member. In his reaction, Këlliçi addressed several questions to Prime Minister Edi Rama regarding the issue.

Full post:

Edi Rama does not know how to stop at endangering national security, but this time the shadows of the scandal threaten Albania's position in NATO as well as the security of the North Atlantic Alliance itself.

After the affair with Charles McGonigal, the alarm has been raised again about another scandal with a different name, a close connection to Prime Minister Edi Rama. It concerns the controversial Israeli businessman of Albanian descent, Ron Yeffet, whose company R&I Trading has been officially implicated in serious international fraud charges.

Ron Yeffet, as a reminder, has strongly entered the arms industry in Albania through two companies in partnership with the state-owned company KAYO, for the production and export of arms, where in serious violations, without competition and transparency, he has received over 10 million euros in advance from the Albanian state.

Just a few days ago, an official document, submitted to a Florida court, proved the lawsuit of an American businessman in the energy field, Mark Faist, against businessman Ron Yeffet for fraud in the amount of 7.6 million dollars. According to the lawsuit, Ron Yeffet used his strong connections with Prime Minister Edi Rama, even securing meetings with him and other officials to deceive him about investment opportunities.

But Rama's "mediator" and friend has received "carta bianca" to act freely in a country that, however small and rotten with corruption, is still a member of NATO. And this role is now exposing the head of the Albanian government to a possible scandal with consequences for the Alliance itself.

On January 12, 2024, an official announcement by SMX (Security Matters) Public Limited Company, an Israeli technology company based in Ireland, listed on international exchanges, specializing in product verification, security, origin and traceability, would announce a $5 million contract with Ron Yeffet's R&I Trading in connection with a NATO member state, aiming to expand to other countries of the Alliance.

So an intermediary of Edi Rama, whose name is shrouded in accusations of fraud and connections that are used as trust capital for his victims, results in another contract in a "NATO member country."

Some questions in the interest of the public, its safety, I am addressing today, as mandated by the will of the Albanians, to Edi Rama:

1. Is Albania this "NATO member" country in the unspecified contract between SMX and the company of fraudster Ron Yeffet?

2. If it is Albania, by what competitive legal procedure was Ron Yeffet's company selected to mediate for our country in a contract with the "NATO member"?

3. Is the head of government endangering national security and that of its Alliance partners by leaving Albania's arms industry in the hands of someone accused of fraud?

4. Is Albania's NATO membership at risk with these corrupt maneuvers, after the integration process was blocked by the Balluku issue?

Edi Rama has replaced the state with his circle of criminals and international fraudsters, but it is precisely this unbridled delusional neps from the "global" leader that is eating away at his head. / CNA
