Confindustria calls for urgent measures for the fuel market after tensions in

Confindustria, referring to the unforeseen consequences of the Gulf War on the economy, has called on the Albanian government to take immediate legal measures, especially in the fuel market.

In a public response, the organization emphasizes that the executive must strengthen controls for law enforcement by fuel trading companies, especially for guaranteeing a 3-month strategic reserve, as a security mechanism for dealing with potential crises.

Secondly, Konfindustria seeks intervention in the regulatory direction of competition in the market, in order to avoid price speculation, similar to those that emerged during the war crisis in Ukraine in 2021–2022. According to it, there is a risk of a return to abusive practices if the international situation worsens.

The organization also proposes the preparation of a legal package to reduce the fiscal burden, in the event of a strong increase in fuel prices in international markets, in order to mitigate the impact on businesses and consumers.

The reaction comes at a time when the price of oil on international stock exchanges has shown immediate signs of growth, making it expected that this increase will also be reflected in the domestic market.
