The leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has reacted from prison regarding the decision of the Criminal Court of Kosovo to send the case to trial. Meta described the decision as political, while adding that now there will not only be a trial but also an investigation.

Among other things, he adds that the conclusion of the preliminary hearing will enable what he calls "the dismantling of the lies in the dossier files."

Although the judge found the justice of many of our claims, with the deliberate lack of investigative actions due to the accusation of not uncovering the truth, instead of demanding that these necessary investigations be carried out, but deliberately avoided until now, she decided that the case should go to trial, but also listed all the investigative actions that must be taken simultaneously to uncover the truth.

So now we will not only have a trial but also an investigation.

However, expressing regret that we wasted 6 months of time, even though many of the accusation's lies were documented during this process, we are eagerly awaiting the start of the trial on the merits and I invite all journalists and the entire diplomatic corps in Tirana to attend every session.

The conclusion of the preliminary hearing gives us the freedom to publicly dismantle all the lies, forgeries, and deceptions contained in the dossiers.

I thank my two lawyers, Kujtim Cakrani and Gylsen Zhllima, for their work and for the court's acceptance of all the new evidence presented by them, which the prosecutors had deliberately avoided.
