The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has shared a reaction regarding the passing of Artan Pogon.

Through a post on his social networks, Berisha writes that Pogoni closed his eyes prematurely and with this news, Albanian sports and volleyball lost today one of its most prominent athletes, coaches, teachers and academics; the Pogoni family lost a beloved and irreplaceable man, an exemplary husband and parent; the students lost a dedicated teacher, while the Democratic Party lost one of its most dedicated leaders, who made a special contribution to the creation and management of the Sports Department.

The sun set forever for Artan Pogoni.

Dear friends, Professor Artan Pogoni passed away unexpectedly and much too soon. Albanian sports and volleyball lost one of its most distinguished athletes, coaches, teachers and academics today; the Pogoni family lost a beloved and irreplaceable man, an exemplary husband and parent; students lost a dedicated teacher, while the Democratic Party lost one of its most dedicated leaders, who made a special contribution to the creation and management of the Sports Department.

Artan Pogon's passion for sports began in his youth, where he established himself as a volleyball player and then continued his career as a coach. His experience on the court and deep knowledge of the sport later oriented him towards educating the younger generations and professionally managing sports teams. In recent years, he was also engaged as the head coach of Barleti Volley, contributing with dedication to the development of university and elite volleyball in Albania.

Expressing my deepest respect and gratitude for his invaluable contribution as a talented athlete, passionate coach, researcher and dedicated professor in the field of sports, as well as for the close cooperation we have had, I share the grief and pain for this grave and irreparable loss with his honorable family, friends and relatives, students. I pray together with them that the good soul of Prof. Artan Pogoni may find the peace he deserves!
