Chinese chemical fertilizers for albanians/ Who “shut up” the SPAK?

In the last 8 years the government of the Socialist Party has been accompanied by many scandals, which have been denounced by CNA.al with evidence, facts and documents. One of the scandals, which is directly related to the health of albanian citizens is that of Chinese pesticides.

It is about a scandal that occurred in 2018, where large quantities of pesticides used in agriculture, were brought from China to Albania, and it is believed that they have already been consumed by albanian consumers. CNA.al has denounced the scandal in some investigative articles, where are suspected of being involved senior Rama government officials.

Through official documents, CNA.al showed how thousands of boxes of chinese pesticides, not certified by the European Union, have entered our country, although this is prohibited by law. But officials have argued that the chinese company that exported the pesticides, is a subsidiary of a Spanish company, which has never been proven. CNA.al showed with exclusive documents that quantities of banned pesticides were loaded in China, and then from Shanghai arrived in Durrës. All were the orders of the Albanian company AGRO-ZANI shpk, with address in Berat.

While, another quantity was ordered by Shegaj-Agr shpk, which is administered by Adriatik Hadëri. This company on 14.03, 2018 has declared customs clearance for pesticides, which are used in agriculture, where it is clearly stated that the exporting company is a Chinese company.

This citizen has stated that the Chinese exporting company is a subsidiary of the company ?MAC-GmbH, with address in Germany. Also, according to official data provided by CNA.al, it is learned that everything went to the Prosecution of Durres, to be investigated as a scandal, and also on this issue there was a complete information, provided by the Directorate of Investigation, at customs.

Also, CNA.al has learned that the Supreme State Audit has launched an inspection at the customs, regarding the scandal in question. The same sources inform that a group of SSA inspectors have started the controls. But beyond the political officials who are suspected of being involved in the scandal, the problem is the attitude of the judiciary.

The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, otherwise known as SPAK, is one of the new institutions emerging from the Justice Reform, strongly trumpeted by the international community. SPAK is seen as a hope for Albanians that the missing justice will finally come, and that corruption in the ranks of politics and senior officials, will finally receive the punishment it deserves.

But, SPAK has remained silent in the face of evidence published by CNA.al. Justice has ?shut up? in the face of a scandal that directly affects the health of Albanian citizens. The fact are facts. And the truth is that the pesticides brought by a Chinese company, were introduced to Albania directly from China, without obtaining the certification of the European Union standard.

And although such an act is strictly prohibited by law, as no pesticides or chemical fertilizers from outside the EU can enter Albania, the crime has apparently occurred. And SPAK is facing trial. Now this institution should show if it has eyes to see and ears to hear./CNA.al
