Iraola priority, Xavi on the list. Candidates for Milan bench

Milan has begun a rebuilding phase following the departures of Massimiliano Allegri, Igli Tara, Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada.

Owner Gerry Cardinale has entrusted Zlatan Ibrahimovic with the management of the sports project and the first priority remains the selection of a new coach. The name closest to the red and black bench is Andoni Iraola, who is expected to meet in London with Ibrahimovic and Cardinale in the coming hours.

The Spanish coach ended a successful three-year spell at Bournemouth, leading the team to sixth place and a place in the Europa League. Iraola leaves at the end of the season and is considered a financially viable profile for Milan, as he earned around €1.8m net per season in the Premier League.

The Rossoneri's other options remain Xavi, Mark Van Bommel and Thiago Motta. Xavi is without a team since 2024, while Van Bommel and Thiago Motta are also among the candidates evaluated by Ibrahimovic.

Milan is expected to first decide on a new coach and then complete the sports management structure.
