Prime Minister Edi Rama hosted an Iftar dinner this Monday, where he invited representatives of religious communities, representatives of the diplomatic corps, personalities from politics and the media.

But what was noticed was that the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, was absent from this Iftar of the head of the government.

It is not known whether Veliaj refused to go or whether they did not invite him, although all the mayors were there.

Veliaj's absence was noticed after the tension in his relations with the head of the government.

We remind you that Veliaj was involved in the "5D" scandal of his directors, who ended up in handcuffs for abusing Tirana Municipality's tenders.

For this affair, SPAK has also investigated the mayor of Tirana, while the latter threatened the prime minister in one of his appearances.

Rama responded with a reaction, where he "shot" Veliaj. The head of the government handed over the mayor to SPAK, saying that he will go to the end for anyone who took defendants./ CNA
