The political leader of the DP for Tirana, Belind Këlliçi, analyzed the statements of the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

In a press conference, he said that on Sunday Veliaj admitted the robbery of 132 million euros in the corruption affair of the century, the ghost incinerator of Tirana.

He recalled the two signatures thrown by the socialist mayor in March 2017 and March 2018, where he approved and guaranteed payments for the 30-year concession contract.

The ex-MP also brought back one of Veliaj's statements in September 2017, when he took full credit for the corruption affair.

Kelliçi published the cooperation agreement of the Municipality of Tirana with the incinerator company, while calling on SPAK to investigate Veliaj for all this.

Dear citizens,

Two days ago, the head of the criminal organization 5D and the de facto owner of the Tirana incinerator, Erion Veliaj, finally admitted to the robbery of 132 million euros in the corruption affair of the century, the ghost incinerator of Tirana.

With his two signatures, cast in March 2017 and March 2018, Erion Veliaj approved and guaranteed the payments for this 30-year concession contract.

Today Erion Veliaj is removed from us as a victim of his criminal organization with thieving directors, but in fact he is its leader. It was Erion Veliaj who took the powers of the Municipal Council and the District Council of Tirana, disappearing in offshore accounts a full 132 million euros from the taxes of the citizens of Tirana. 

Let's remember once again together how in September 2017, Veliaj beat his chest and took full authorship and credit for this corrupt affair.

Dear citizens,

The other day, Erion Veliaj deceived the members of the Tirana Municipal Council, telling them that the concession contract for the incinerator had no financial implications, and he knowingly ignored the decision-making of the Tirana Municipal Council, as provided by the Law "On Local Self-Government".

Right after this event, Erion Veliaj placed the entire criminal organization of the Municipality of Tirana at the service of the land business, collecting tens of millions of additional euros from the concession contract.

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, is not one of the clients of this contract, but the actual owner and the main beneficiary of this corrupt affair.

Veliaj admits that he robbed millions in Tirana's incinerator

Today I find the opportunity to ask SPAK again to call and start investigations against the de facto owner of the Tirana incinerator, Erion Veliaj.

The incinerator affair is the most documented corrupt robbery with undeniable evidence, so the lack of reaction of the prosecution body and the fear of mentioning Erion Veliaj's name in the file are clear indicators of the capture and blackmail that Veliaj is exerting on SPAK.

Veliaj's position in office gives him the possibility of destroying evidence and disappearing official documents, which implicate him directly in this affair.

Only an elusive justice that does not take sides can guarantee the trust of the public opinion and the Albanian citizens, who in these 11 years are the most stolen citizens of Europe.

For this reason, I again invite the citizens and residents of Tirana to protest in front of the Tirana City Hall, on Thursday, April 11, at 11:00 a.m., to demand the urgent removal of Erion Veliaj from his post and his removal before justice.
