The Committee on Europe and Foreign Affairs held a hearing with the candidate for Head of Diplomatic Mission, Ermal Dredha. Dredha was proposed by the Government as a candidate for Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the Swiss Confederation and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the Principality of Liechtenstein.

Dredha stated that he will strengthen bilateral relations between Albania and Switzerland, and our country and Liechtenstein. He stated that he will work to strengthen the image of our country in these countries.

Candidate Dredha said he will work in the areas of security, migration management, public order, and civil protection.

" The relations between Albania and Switzerland are stable, consolidated, based on trust and mutual cooperation in numerous political, economic and social fields.

Switzerland has been one of Albania's most stable partners in the last three decades, with a development contribution that has helped in the development of institutions and economic and international decentralization.

Regarding bilateral relations and the further strengthening of the political institutional dialogue between the two countries, maintaining the pace of high-level contacts and deepening cooperation in the areas of security, migration management, public order and civil protection.

Special attention will be paid to the relationship with international organizations in Geneva.

I see that the Albanian diaspora in Switzerland is widespread.

Cooperation with Albanian NGOs will be sought and Albanian students in Switzerland will be identified and a database of Albanian citizens will be created.

We will promote our cultural heritage through activities and exhibitions.

We will promote the tourist potential of our country and identify Albanians with contributions.

"The relations are historic, we will also develop relations with Liechtenstein, by holding regular consultations at least once a year ," Dredha declared./CNA
