Pension increase starts from January 2026/ Rama: It will be monthly

Prime Minister Edi Rama, through a video on social media, shared the news that starting from January 2026, pensions will increase every month.

Rama said that yesterday the 2026 Draft Budget was passed in Parliament and declared that, as promised in the campaign, the pension increase will be implemented.

"Last night we submitted the 2026 draft budget to Parliament and I am happy today, I have never used this word, but I am telling pensioners that as we pledged in the campaign, this mandate will be the mandate of increasing pensions.

Precisely because we are no longer the country that was barely holding on, but a country with a stable economy, we can do what we pledged to do.

Our pensioners will receive their bonus this year-end and from January they will have an increase that is now spread out every month with annual indexation, of course.

According to the categories, at the end of the mandate, we should achieve an average pension increase as follows:

The pension with full years of work should increase to 40 thousand lek from the 27 thousand 350 lek it is today.

The partial urban pension will increase to an average of 22,000 new lek from 15,850 lek today.

The rural pension should increase to 18,000 new lek from the 11,500 lek it is today.

The disability pension should increase to 30 thousand new lek from the 20 thousand lek it is today.
