A few days ago, the head of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi, sent a letter to the political parties.

Celibashi stated that electronic voting cannot be done in five districts because the preparation period is insufficient.

He announced that there would be electronic voting only in the districts of Elbasan and Durrës.

After this letter came a reply from the head of LZHK, Dashamir Shehi.

LZHK proposes that Tirana be included in electronic voting, as it is the district with the largest electoral weight.

The National Development Movement Party estimates that in the districts where it is proposed to conduct electronic voting for the 2025 elections for the Assembly of Albania, Tirana District should be included, for the following reasons:

1. The district of Tirana is the district with the greatest political and electoral weight, so we see it as a necessity to establish identification, voting and electronic counting in Tirana.

2. Tirana offers logistical and human convenience due to the terrain, road infrastructure and CEC offices, which are located in Tirana.

3. Tirana was the first to carry out the pilot model of electronic identification, voting and counting in the 2021 elections, unit 10, which was successful.

4. Electronic voting and counting in Tirana makes processing the final result simpler and offers a fair electoral process, avoiding political commissioners who create delays in the process due to fatigue or tensions between the parties./ CNA
