"Erion's colleagues in SPAK are prolonging his agony"/

The political leader of the DP for Tirana, Belind Kelliçi, in a statement to the media, reacted to the frauds of the mayor Erion Veliaj in an interview on Top Channel, where he said that he was not the applicant for the concession for the Tirana incinerator.

It was also stated that the investigation into the incinerator affair has ended and the parties are in court.

Kelliçi stated that the facts there and SPAK are simply prolonging Veliaj's agony as they cannot hide the truth.

"Two days ago, the colleague of Altin Dumani, Dritan Premçi and Klodian Brahos, but above all the de facto owner of the Tirana Incinerator, repeated the old deception that he is not the applicant for the waste treatment concession and is not the managing authority.

At the end of his public statement, the de facto owner of the Tirana incinerator stated that the investigation into this mega affair has already ended and that the parties are on trial!

Contrary to the statements of Erion Veliaj, his colleagues in SPAK, stated that the investigations continue and only a part of the officials have been sent for trial.

On August 15, 2024, the Democratic Party of Albania, in the capacity of the predicate of this file, addressed an official letter to the head of SPAK Altin Dumani and the head of GJKKO Erjon Bani, for making available all investigative documents and the date of the hearing preliminary for Lefter Koka, Alqi Bllakon, Taulant Tusha and the entire chain investigated by Erion's colleagues for this affair.

On September 3, 2024, the head of SPAK Altin Dumani, officially informs us that all the investigative documents are already in GJKKO and we should address this institution.

On September 10, 2024, we again officially appealed to the head of GJKKO, Erjon Bani, to make all the documents available to us, as we were and will be an active part of this trial in defense of the public interest and Albanian citizens.

Until today, even though more than 2 months have passed, GJKKO, in flagrant violation of the Code of Criminal Procedure, refuses to notify us of the date of the hearing, but above all refuses to give us the investigative acts, in which the truth is found. The truth that Erion's colleagues are trying in vain to hide!

Dear citizens,

For more than 1 year, we have given every proof to Erion's colleagues that it is the latter that requested the concession for waste treatment in Tirana, even rejected in writing by the two former Ministers of Finance, Shkëlqim Cani and Arben Ahmetaj.

We have sent the proof to SPAK that it is Erion Veliaj, the person who promoted this financial affair, as the former Minister of Environment Lefter Koka himself expressed in writing in the letters officially addressed to the Council of Ministers.

We have sent irrefutable facts to Erion's colleagues, such as electronic communications and not only, where it is proved that Erion was the one who approved which tower should pay for the deposit of soils and which tower should not.

We have sent many, many other facts to SPAK, for which I am repeating them again, Erion's colleagues are tired in vain, as they will not be able to hide them, at most they will simply prolong the agony of the actual owner of the Tirana Incinerator.

Today, I make a public appeal to the head of GJKKO, Erjon Bani, to implement the law and make available to us all the investigative documents for the corruption affair of the century.

The Democratic Party and I personally will stand by the promise given until the end that all high officials involved in this affair will go to jail.

Erion's colleagues share the decision among themselves if they want to follow Erion to this destination as well", said Këlliçi.

Kelliçi further called on the citizens to join tomorrow in the protest against Veliaj in front of the headquarters of the Tirana incinerator and the 5D file.

"Meanwhile, we invite the citizens of Tirana to protest, tomorrow, Thursday, October 17, to unite in front of the crime scene, the headquarters of the Tirana incinerator and 5D, to remove the thief Erion Veliaj, an hour ago, from the office occupied with the money of the corruption of the incinerator and his electoral staff 5D", he said./ CNA
