Prime Minister Edi Rama, together with Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu held a meeting with the doctors and nurses of Klos and Mati, where they also announced the targeted salary increase for family doctors by 20 thousand ALL and nurses with 15 thousand ALL, until 2024.

Prime Minister Edi Rama emphasized that with the increase in salaries for the white shirts, our country goes to the highest level of salaries in the region.

"I am very pleased that we finally reached this great turning point, not only for the white shirts but for everyone. We started with the specialist doctors, as a significant signal for everyone, not only for the white shirts but for everyone and then for the others. The specialist doctors will not have their salary increased next year, because they have received the whole amount this year. But for all the others in the salary you will receive now, you will have the first increase and then April after April you will get the other supplement as well. Your salary will increase by 20,000 lek for doctors and 15,000 new lek for nurses. In fact, with these increases, we are going to the top level of the region", - emphasized Prime Minister Edi Rama .

Manastirliu considered the salary increase a promise kept by the Albanian government.

"The new salaries of +50,000 lek for specialist doctors become effective this month. We have continued to keep our commitment to increase the salaries of general practitioners and nurses by 7%, and as Prime Minister Rama has promised, in the plan of salary reform with the increase of salaries for general practitioners by $200 per month for all general practitioners and for our nurses by $150 per month in 2024," said Manastirliu .

Appreciating the work of the white shirts and health investments in this region, Manastirliu said that in recent years, specialist doctors have been attached to the Dibër Regional Hospital, offering quality services close to the residence.

"Today at the Regional Hospital of Dibra we have an obstetrician, a surgeon, anesthetists, pediatricians, doctors of various specialties and even the Regional Hospital of Dibra is a hospital that performs interventions of a high degree of difficulty, thanks to the commitment of new specialist doctors in this hospital. And not only those who have arrived, but also those who will come, because we are committed to always accompany the improvement of the infrastructure with the support of professionals", said Manastirliu .

More than 22,000 health workers, doctors, nurses, medical science technicians, but also hospital administration workers will benefit from the increase in wages, which came into effect this month./CNA.al
