The Vice President of the Democratic Party, Luciano Boçi, explained today that the protest called by the opposition on February 10 is not a political maneuver, but a civic response to the state and corruption.

Invited to A2 CNN, Boçi stated that Democratic MPs have an obligation to be on the front lines of this revolt.

Boçi added that a broad mobilization is expected on February 10, as a necessary reaction to injustice.

"It is not a political maneuver, but a civic reaction to what the opposition considers state capture and widespread corruption. There are no hidden scenarios. It is the citizen who finds the form and way to express the revolt. We as deputies have the obligation to be in the front line of this revolt. We stand up for the citizens, for the truth and for faith in alternatives. This is not political exploitation of the situation, but a necessary reaction to injustice. A broad civic mobilization is expected on February 10, where the protest will serve as a strong message against the government and in defense of democracy," said Boçi./ CNA
