"We are in an alarming situation"/ Teliti: 100% of the state budget is

Democrat Dorjan Teliti described the situation in the country as alarming today, as he focused on the way the state budget is managed.

Invited to "Syri TV", Teliti stated that corruption has reached such levels in Albania that 100% of the state budget is part of the theft.

According to Teliti, it is worrying that Albanians' money is not going to the right areas, at a time when the opposition is trying to do the opposite.

"I have doubled the budget compared to 10 years ago," the prime minister said. Well, have the services you provide to citizens doubled compared to 10 years ago? What does doubling the budget mean? Does it mean that I take twice as much money from Albanians, or not? Has my standard of living doubled, improved at least twice? Is there twice as much infrastructure in Albania? Are there twice as many schools, kindergartens, nurseries? Are there twice as many pensions? Are there twice as many salaries? No, in none of them. Where did the money go? With mismanagement of affairs.

That this 200 million euros, in the end, is a drop in the ocean of abuses. Here, 200 million euros are abused with a road such as the Arbër Road. In 2018, when the Arbër Road was programmed for approximately 310-320 million euros, today it will reach the figure of 600 million euros, because it has not yet left the tunnel. We have a doubling of living costs. We have a multiplication of corruption. Such corruption, as in Albania, which is stolen with 100% of the state budget, has never existed.

We are in an alarming situation, where few figures are actually public, such as the case of the arbitration bill, which clearly shows where Albanians' money goes. Why do they leave? Yes, because they don't have it, you need a hospital service, you either have to have money, or you have to have a friend.

All these problems, taken together, make the situation we are in today, which continues for the agenda, that is, the agenda of politics of the last few days, where arrogance reaches its maximum peak. We already have a decision of the Constitutional Court, which has lifted the suspension that was taken, the suspension order that was taken by the party without prior notice regarding Balluk. As the lawyer said in a previous interview, we are in an uncertainty today.

By going abroad, everyone solves their own problems. Here we must solve the problems of Albania, which also solves personal problems at the same time. The people will take their fates into their own hands, that by any democratic means, I repeat, any democratic means, popular revolts, sustained, continuous protests, will force the current government to leave.

We are facing a prime minister who has no problem with civic resistance, nor with the numbers that land in the capital's squares. We have seen the reactions that the prime minister himself has had regarding the protests that have been held by the Democratic Party and the opposition.

Our cause is for a normal Albania, an Albania that develops, an Albania that moves, that employs, while the other cause is an Albania that employs a handful of people, that steals budget money, that gives concessions, that expels Albanians, and so on. These are political jokes that he is concerned about. The criminal tear gas used against the protest, tens of thousands of opposition protesters, was simply a response or an example of the nervousness that has gripped the current majority.

We expect massive protests, we expect resistance. The opposition is determined in its objective. There is no other way, all other possible options have been exhausted and exhausted, which would be normal for a democratic country that aspires to integrate into the European Union, which is the political dialogue, which takes place in the hall of the Albanian Parliament, where it is understood that we have a problem, let's solve it how the problem is solved.

"The moment we exhaust all these spaces, let's say, for institutional, political spaces, then it's up to the people to take over and for every democratic means of protest. Within the legal, democratic contours, we are convinced that with sustainable protests we will achieve our goal. We are not living in a democratic country," Teliti said. /CNA
