Today's protest in front of the Municipality of Tirana, where citizens demanded the resignation of Erion Veliaj, lasted about 1 hour. 

The protest was peaceful and only at one point did the citizens burn some tires in front of this institution, causing smoke. 

At the protest, the political leader of the DP for Tirana, Belind Kelliçi, also spoke, who said that Rama should resign, as many of his officials and former officials are in prison.

"This individual must come here in front of you to give an account of why he stole the votes on May 14, 2023, why when the citizens asked him what will be done with the kindergartens, with the kindergartens, with the schools, with the parks, his answer was: 100, 200 or 500 euros per vote and then, after May 14, he talked about an extraordinary victory in Tirana. In fact, he was talking about an unprecedented theft. What happened on May 14, 2023 happened all over Albania, because Rilindja does not know how to win. Rilindja only knows how to steal, Edi Rama only knows how to steal, ministers only know how to steal. At the end of my speech, I want to ask you a question: What needs to happen to this mayor for him to resign?! When his electoral staff of May 14 today, some are in prison, some are on the run, some are expected to go to jail very soon.

What else should happen to Edi Rama himself to resign and leave, when the entire cabinet of 2013 with which he came to the government has gone to prison, when even the person who was in charge of the SP Program, Ilir Beqaj, has he already gone to jail?! What should happen next in this country?!

Therefore, I invite every citizen, even those who are skeptical, even those who prefer to comment on social networks and not come to the protest, even those who have questions, to join us because this cause is not for DP, it is for all citizens . Today we are stolen, democrats and socialists, with or without a party. I invite you that on July 11 at eight o'clock in the evening, we will fill the square in front of the Prime Minister's Office like never before, because that is where the hurricane of hope and victory of the citizens and the DP will begin," he said./ CNA
